Key West: June 19

 The day started with a long list of chores. We clicked through them readily. We had to actually discard 3 gallons of fuel that dumped over in the dinghy. Then we had to bid a temporary farewell to our Jacksonville friends Dennis and Rachel. We hope see them again for the Fourth of July. Perhaps Rachel will get a chance to speak. 

Then we went to Publix for provisions. To our delight, they have a liquor store next door! The panniers Bonnie and JoAn provided were worth their weight in gold. Or vodka. 

Then we got in the tender Furball and rode to the beach off of Key West. The tarpon just swim by you through the gin clear water. 

Debbie actually had on her list today “relax.” So that sort of meant we HAD to relax or it wasn’t accomplished. 

We came back and swam in the pool and had sushi and stuffed jalapeño poppers for dinner!

I’ve been trying to figure out why we have been so sore all over. Then I started thinking about the effort things take and it makes sense. The mere act of having a beer involves something like the obstacle course on American Ninja Warrior! 

If we want a beer, we have to yank open the refrigerator which is sort of like pull starting a lawn mower. If you get it open, you climb a flight of stairs to the flybridge to drink. And now our Toadfish cozies are suctioning to everything so you have to fight for every sip. Then you run down a flight of stairs for another beer and God help you if you have to pee. That’s another three steps below and then you have to manually pump the head. 

Jump into the tender and you have to hold on for dear life as Debbie puts Furball though her break in period. Then get back and hose off the whole damn place and start again in the morning! We should be in GREAT shape when we return. Except for our livers.
