Day 10: A Day Off!
For the first time in more than a week, we did not travel. We enjoyed lounging on the boat and exploring St. Augustine. Our friends Kris, Catherine and Mara drove up from Holly Hill and we had a delicious lunch and fun visit.
The sailboaters behind us shared some of their traveling with cats advice. They have a Bengal. He is beautiful and very big.
Our boys were unimpressed. On an interesting note, we had a strange happening last light. For the second consecutive night, we heard a loud thud under the bed. I thought maybe a log hit us but when it happened again, I thought maybe the board the bed is on was starting to break and drop onto the fuel tank. When it happened a third time, Debbie got up. The culprit was the replacement inflatable mattress. Apparently, the quilting is separating so each time it lets loose, it makes a noise and a lump appears. So now the mattress resembles a motocross track!
Fortunately we only have one more night to deal with the mattress mess! Planning an early start and then home late afternoon. Wish us luck!
